Jeanti

Do away with your stereotypes because there is nothing fancy or proper about Jeanti’s colorful post-modern designs. This French based artist is just taste of the talent featured on changethethought.com, every week they showcase new stuff, you’ll find many of the artists on my blog as well. Check out Jeanti’s on-line gallery www.jeanti.com it’s a psychedelic 3D acid-hipster collage and I can’t stop looking at it!

Phaseone – Sugar

The Short of the WeekPhaseone-Sugar by Ryan Powell was hand picked by Georg Csarmann. I enjoyed the stylization of this piece both artistically and psychologically. As the conversation gets more intense the texts flash on the screen hardly allowing enough time to read the chaos. Interestingly enough, the short was intended to be an interpretation of a track titled “Sugar” by New York City based electronic music producer Phaseone. He describes the track as “a homage to the ’90s Chicago rap sound of Twista and Do or Die that my friends and I grew up listening to.” Don’t know if the film lives up to the Chicago inspiration but gotta give props to Phaseone, those beats man!

Amanda Wachob

Amanda Wachob

My favorite tattoo artist, Amanda Wachob just updated her website. She’s added more breathtaking masterpieces to her portfolio. Needless to say, her work is unlike anything I’ve seen. Her use of color is beyond bold, her abstract paint splatter could not look more realistic.

Jericho

The Short of the WeekJericho by Liam Gavin was hand picked by Ivan Kander. If you like the dark and depressing this odd, artsy, little short is right up your alley. “As a kid, whenever something bad would happen, you’d retreat to things of comfort–a hug from a teddy bear, a snuggle of your favorite blanket, or quick chat with your imaginary friend. Well, unfortunately, adulthood often doesn’t have time for such frivolity.”

Hermetic Island

Hermetic IslandAnother great find from changethethought.com, Tristram Lansdowne’s watercolor wonders pay homage to the imagination in a way that only art can. This piece, Hermetic Island is just one of many magical little worlds.

Diego Patino

Diego Patino

Unlike most mediums, digital illustration begs for manipulation, for normality to be warped into something disturbingly unreal. Some of the coolest digital illustration I’ve seen has been featured on changethethought.com, one of the recent headliners,  Diego Patino has put a very unique spin his random array of pop-art portraits. His own personal title for the collection: Portraits Soooo Great You Will Want To Kiss The-Screen. They certainly pay homage to the comic candy style that made pop art so irresistible in the first place.

Erik Jacobsen

Erik Jacobsen

I’ve been in search of an unconventional tattoo artist for some time now. San Francisco is home to many tattoo experts but few have deviated from the traditional style. I couldn’t be more stoked to have found Erik Jacobsen at Idle Hand. Not only is he an amazing fine artist but his tattoos are phenomenal! Just set up my appointment for the first of the month, couldn’t be more excited to see what he comes up with.

Homeless Highlife

Brooklyn based artist Kevin Cyr has taken our everyday world and turned it into unfunctional functionality. The literal double meanings in these creative campers make these installments all the more enjoyable.
